The UNAoC has invited partner organizations to give short presentations in the Open Space, a conference room open for partners participating in the Forum. The Open Space provides an opportunity for organizations to present projects and publications and engage with participants in the conference on topics related to intercultural dialogue and cooperation.

Summary:
The newly launched website was introduced during this session. The small but significant group of participants included representatives from civil society, and from local and national governments. Potential partners discussed ways to build partnerships around the Online Community on Migration and Integration, notably by disseminating the call for good practices in integration to National and Local Goverments, Civil Society and the private sector of each country. Other contributions were discussed, such as cooperation on launching debates or workshops in the regions represented.

Summary:
UNAOC CHAIR ON MEDIA AND INFORMATION LITERACY FOR INTERCULTURAL DIALOGUE (UAC-MILID) is a network of six universities working together within the overall thematic framework of the Chair. Each academic year one of the universities will be the “engine” in charge of developing, implementing and promoting the outcomes of the Chair-network. It is expected that UAC-MILID will initiative its program in the Fall of 2010. The session was well attended, with representatives of eleven countries in addition to UNESCO and the European Union.

Dr. Esther Hambuer, Sao Paulo University, presented the draft program of the third year of UAC-MILID
Dr. Mogens Schmidt, DADG, Communication and Information Sector, UNESCO, addressed the participants connecting UAC-MILID with UNESCO’s UNITWIN program.
Matteo Zacchetti, Media Literacy Programme, European Commission, outlined possible collaborations within EC’s Media Literacy initiatives.
